Jonathan Scarozza
Jonathan Scarozza currently serves as Director of Music at the Episcopal Church of St. Albans the Martyr in Jamaica, NY, and as a private piano and voice teacher. Jonathan began his musical journey in church music, joining a church choir at the early age of seven. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Jonathan is the youngest of five children, all of whom sang in the same choir.
Jonathan received his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Kentucky. Following a brief period of discernment at the conclusion of his undergraduate studies, Jonathan decided to pursue a career in church music. He received his Master’s Degree in Organ Performance from SUNY Buffalo. After over twenty years in the Episcopal denomination, Jonathan has served the following parishes: Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, Long Island, St. Luke’s in Atlanta, GA, St. Luke’s in Evanston, IL, and St. Paul’s Cathedral in Buffalo, NY.
Outside of his church community and his teaching, Jonathan has a number of family and friends in the area. In his free time, he enjoys sports, kayaking, fishing, learning different languages, eating well, and good fellowship.
